Cantors

Cantors are leaders of song who invite and encourage our parish community to pray and proclaim our faith musically at liturgies. Cantors meet once every 6-8 weeks to practice, pray, sing, discuss, and review musical selections. Parishioners who love to sing are invited to join the Cantors.

The Choir of Our Lady of the Assumption celebrates every aspect of music ministry, and enjoys a diversity of music from the traditional to modern music selections. The Choir is not only a Sunday choir, but also has choir exchanges with other parishes, visits hospitals and nursing homes, and sings for special liturgies throughout the year. Thursday nights find the choir in church from 7:30 to 9:30 for rehearsal, where an informal atmosphere belies the hard work of learning new material and polishing older pieces. The Choir is a talented, small faith community that ministers to itself and has the deep spirituality that allows it to minister to others. No experience is necessary, just a love for making beautiful music. Come join us!
