Mission:  “The ministry of lecturing offers one of the most explicit opportunities for Catholic laypeople to literally announce the sacred words of God’s own Word, the sacred expression of God’s inner self, revealed as the heart of what is absolutely real. ”       

Lectors are lay men and women, practicing confirmed Catholics, who proclaim the Word of God at liturgical celebrations including weekend and weekday Masses.  The ability to project one’s voice and to convey the meaning of Scripture are desirable assets.  A willingness to prepare on one’s own for each proclamation is necessary for this ministry.
